Protected Word form added to the new button in Teams Files doesn't allow editing

I have added a Microsoft Word protected form to teams.  It is set to only allow form fields to be filled in.  When I open from the new button it is completely uneditable without any buttons for opening in the app or editing.  Is there any way around this as we were hoping to add all our word forms as templates to the library.
