Promoted Links App

We have used this extensively on our sites and it's not being supported anymore for modern pages. Is there any talk about introducing this again?

I've seen the suggestions for using Quick Links, but it doesn't have the same functionality that Promoted Links had. Why would they just remove something that's used so often? Doesn't make sense to me.
