Problem following Sharepoint Sites

I own some websites of different private groups. To make these websites easier to find, you can follow them as you know. For all of them, this has worked wonderfully so far (until mid-November) and they also appear in the appropriate list in Sharepoint Online, but all new sites are adamantly refusing. What could be the reason for this?
