Possibility to display classic publishing sites pages as News in modern sites & on SharePoint Home

Just wondering if it would be possible to display a classic publishing page as News in modern sites News webpart & as Organization News on SharePoint Home.

Understand News Link (Repost page) is an option but for that we still have to create repost pages. What we are after is, to be able to add "promoted state" column to classic publishing pages and then change the value of "promoted state = 2", so that it starts appearing as News.

Any thoughts or pointers to it, is highly appreciated. Thanks.
