Placeholder [[ ]] links not working in Enterprise Wiki

Hi

I'm just getting involved with Sharepoint at a small business. We like the categories and ratings provided by the Enterprise Wiki so i have set one up but the wiki link / place holder [[For Example]] takes me to an error page (page doesn't exist).

This type of link works perfectly in a wiki library in our top level site so I'm wondering whether I'm missing a particular Site Feature.

I've searched high and low for a solution but can't find anything so would be grateful for any pointers.
