"Pin to top" documents doesn't open properly after exiting library.

In our departments Sharepoint library we have a problem with "pin to top" documents. When I pin the document at first it works as it's intended. When I however exist the library and return at a later date the pinned document is still in the top as before but when I try to open it it doesn't open the document but some sort of folder with the same name as the document. See attached images.

Does anyone have a solution to this problem?

I am getting this same issue, have you been able to resolve the issue?

No, unfortunately not. The Sharepoint library is connected to a team in Teams and if you pin the document in Teams and open it there it works without a problem but I can't seem to find a solution in Sharepoint.
  • That's strange, what should happen is the document opens in the common file viewer for Microsoft 365

Yeah, I know. It does that directly after I pin it to the top without a problem but as soon as I exit the library and returns it open that "folder".
