Permission levels for modern team site

I have designed a modern team site and are making use of modern pages.

Can Site Members create and modify modern pages? What minimum permission level is required to support this. Will Contribute be sufficient?

I know site owners can perform this task.

victormonasterio by default if you have not changed any permissions site members can create and modify modern pages. Contribute will be sufficient using the OOTB Site members group.
