Performance and capacity planning for SP 2016

Is anyone have Capacity planning sheet for SharePoint 2016? or can refer any good material. I have already read this link :https://technet.microsoft.com/en-us/library/cc298801(v=office.16).aspx.

  • I'm not aware of an Excel sheet that is similar to Exchange. Unlike Exchange, SharePoint has a significant number of variables that are difficult to account for. Most 'sizing' is just based off of experience and a bit of guessing/magic.

Thank you Trevor Seward jcgonzalezmartin. So we have to use our earlier experience in SP 2013 to do the guesstimates? can I say this? or SP 2016 capacity planning would be different from SP 2013 because of min roles and other architecture changes.

One thing to remember, is that MinRoles will be more efficient that the custom role approach of 2013. So, if everything else was equal, which it never is, a 2016 farm with MinRoles assigned to 4 machines (2 wfe/dist cache and 2 app/search) would perform better that 4 2013 servers with custom services activated on each.
