Hi Joel,
Approved document will be visible by all the users instead of document in pending state.
If you get anormal comportment, i suggest to have look in the approval workflow steps actions to check the configuration of the steps depending of your needs.

- So, just confirming a file changed from Approved to Pending (because of a change in the document) will still be visible to users with read only access, in its previous Approved state?
