Part word search not displaying results from document library level - But working from home page

Hi all,

When searching from the modern homepage, I do not have to type a full word in order for search results to pop up, for example, I can search "Ann" for "Annual Report" and results will appear.

However, when doing exactly the same thing from the document library itself, I have to type "Annual" before anything starts to appear and if I carry on typing "Annual R" the results disappear again.

To me, this seems like a major flaw in SharePoint search and I hope it is something that I can change at my end to resolve.

Does anyone else experience this and does anyone know how to fix this?

I am having to teach users not to search from the document library and to go back to the home page to search.
