Pages promoted to news not appearing in SharePoint Home News?

Hi there,

anyone knows if it's by design that SharePoint pages promoted as news posts from within the SitePages library do not appear as actual news in SharePoint Home as well as the new global nav?

I can those news via Microsoft Search just fine, however so they're indexed.

The ones that are automatically shown come from a Communication Site, whereas those only discoverable via search are from a regular modern team site.

Do you experience the same behaviour?
