Owner unable to Rename folder in SharePoint Site
- Jan 31, 2024
Chris_Clark1968 Sorry, edited my above response accordingly.
Users should be able to rename the folders with SharePoint default Full Control permissions.
Side note: "Delete" permissions are required for renaming files/folders in SharePoint. Check these links for more information:
- Why delete permission is required to rename a document in SP Document Library?
- Permission Level which doesn't allow renaming file in document library

ganeshsanap Wanted to follow up that I am still having the same issue. I am the creator and owner of the sharepoint and it will not let me delete or rename documents, which is a little frustrating since it came with a "General" folder that I now can't rename or get rid of. Any help is appreciated to figure out why I can't rename the folders on the site library in the sharepoint I created! Thanks.
