OneDrive setup fails to complete
I have a Windows 10 Enterprise system with a user who had OneDrive on their system. I tried to repair it: %localappdata%\Microsoft\OneDrive\onedrive.exe /reset but nothing comes up in Task Manager...
- Jan 22, 2021Open the Run command by pressing Windows + R and type Regedit and hit enter. This will open the registry editor.
Now Navigate to the following path
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Policies\Microsoft\Windows\OneDrive
From the Left-hand side click on the OneDrive Registry key and from the right-hand side you may see the DisableFileSyncNGSC registry key.
This registry key value should be 0, if it is set to 1 then you will face this issue. Double click on the DisableFileSyncNGSC registry key and modify the value to 0.
My colleague told me about this and I had this happen to me today. OBNOXIOUS! I closed OneDrive on my Windows 10 Enterprise Edition system. I went to click on the OneDrive icon in my start menu..... nothing. No OneDrive.exe in Task Manager.
I tried repair and to call OneDrive.exe in other tech support site's. No luck.
OBNOXIOUS as I said as no GPO that I know of and I was using the product a moment ago. I even restarted. I too tried to repair with SFC.EXE /REPAIR NOW and no luck.
This is the fix that I ran and then clicked on the start menu OneDrive and it loaded. WTH
I am linking to the site that I found. Why would I need to do a reg hack and can I undo this when I have the product running?

Repair Microsoft OneDrive
When I reinstalled Office 2019 that came with my branded computer, Virus & Threat Protection reminded me to "Set up OneDrive." Ransomware Protection also reminded me to set up OneDrive.
I have a Microsoft Mail account and OneDrive. I want to restore OneDrive. I clicked to go to the OneDrive website [https://go.microsoft.com/fwlink/p/?LinkID=251869], but it redirected. I can't access the website, and I can't restore it because OneDrive was corrupted by malware, I can't restore OneDrive, so the computer still doesn't work.
I don't restore OneDrive, I uninstall OneDrive in the computer application, but that doesn't help. The malware corrupted my OneDrive and also hid the virus in my OneDrive and attacked my computer. The ghosts and viruses in my computer connected to it, and still connected to the malware in OneDrive.
Please help me repair Microsoft OneDrive.

ding_yande I think Microsoft turns OFF System Restore which would have allowed you to get a restore point where you can go back in time to when the issue didn't occur.
I believe you can set a onedrive.exe to be NOT seen as a virus by Microsoft Windows Defender.
