Notification when a change is made on a site

Hi

We have a communication site setup and we have been asked if it is possible to setup email notification so that when someone updates adds a news item, adds a event or document is added that a email is sent out to the users of the site.

Some said this happens automatically when you "follow" a site, however we didn't seam to get any email notification when we followed the site.

Anyone know if Follow should do what we want or if  there is any other options?

Thanks

    Hi,

Following a site won't trigger emails I'm afraid. A Follow means a site will show up in webparts like 'My sites' and it will trigger Office 365 to show you activity from that site in places like Delve. But no emails.

To get emails for the things you want you will need to use either Alerts (for document libraries/events) or - for more options - Flow. There is no 'Tell me everything by email' button in Office 365, that I know of anyway.
