New Library UI - non-required "Required" metadata

We need this fixed!
- We have pages that show sub-sets of the main document library based on required metadata , for example, all documents related to a specific project (determined by a project name data field).
- Documents without metadata do NOT show up on the page immediately after upload.
- Users must navigate back to the main document library (assuming they know how to do that), fill in the required metadata (choose the project name), and then navigate back to the specific page that shows the subset of the library.
THAT'S RIDICULOUS!
