Need to have link automatically added to left nav whenever a new site is created

Is there an easy way to create (add) a link to the current left nav default so that when I create a new site the link will be added. For example, when I create a new site, I want the "Site Storage Metrics" link for the site to be added to the left nav.&nbsp;
