Modern Pages and News Features
Hi Tech Community! We received some tenant updates and am trying to make sure I am in the know. 1. Some sites, not all, now have a "news" link in the left nav (quick links). Why some and not ...

Thanks Brent. I agree with the "shiny"...missing functionality assessment. I really wish the deployment had not taken over the default action of "add a page".
Good to know that what I am seeing is accurate.
I guess when the full feature is rolled out it will be better.
Thanks!

My 2 cents here about your questions :-)
- The News link in the menu is going to be removed (Microsoft is working on a Fix according with a message posted here in the network)
- You can still create other page types by browsing the site pages library and use the New menu there. But by default the new page type is going to be the new one you have just experienced

I also noticed that all quick links that were "headers" (a quick link w/ a url) were set to have the site url and thus throws off the UI experience on the home page.
There is also now a disconnect on modern pages and regular ones with the quick links. the modern pages all have Pages in them but you do no see that on the "old?" pages :)
Thanks for the info!!
