First thing you have to do is test your content database in a SP 2016 environmente to detect any possible issues you can have in the migration. Once you have done this, do the upgrade of your DB in a SP 2016 environment and them repeat the same steps in SP 2019. In regards of the customizations, they should work in both SP 2013 and SP 2019 with minor changes

Thank you for the reply.

We will focus on the database approach and see if any issue comes. My only main concern is we want modern UI in SP2019 and also with look and feel what our company want.

Hello Juan,

What exactly is required to enable the modern page experience in SP 2016 on-prem server? Is modern page is present on SP2016 or its only in SP2019.

  No modern experience in SP 2016. Modern experience is only available in SP 2019
