Microsoft OneDrive - Site Collection Administrators "empty" with user name not listed

Question

I have seen this a few times where JANE DOE is not able to get to their OneDrive.

I go to Site Collection Administrators and their name is NOT listed. I add it in, and they CAN work / see their OneDrive again. "My name" is listed as I am the OneDrive / SharePoint Online admin.

I am not removing these people and I don't think they know HOW to do so.

Is there a place to check to find out WHAT might be going on that they are NOT their own Admin of their OneDrive?
