Microsoft lists conditional formatting dates

Can anyone help please. I have set up conditional formatting on a date so it shows as red for anything that is older then todays date. We also have a status field in the same list which is to show open and closed actions.

However as some of our records are closed in the status field, the date field will still show the date formatted as red like it’s overdue.

Is there anyway this field can be shown a different colour as the status field is closed
