Questions
Request advice on best practice to:
1. Create a hierarchy of metadata
2. When metadata is entered against a document in library eg. PLANT SECTION field, how to filter dropdown list values by PLANT AREA.
3. Is it possible to auto populate/update metadata at same hierarchical level in separate metadata columns

- My two cents here:
(1) Explore the possibilities Manage Metadata can bring here
(2) As an alternative to Manage Metadata, explore the possibilities that PowerApps can bring here (only for customizing list forms)
(3) Custom Dev by means of SPFx Extensions...again for lists you have the Exetension customizers, but for document libraries you don't have the same possibilities
