Metadata for folders possible after all

Hi,

I have believed that in a modern document library one cannot add metadata to folders. Today I went in to validate my assumption and indeed, selecting a folder will not present any additional metadata columns to be filled in. It is however possible to deselect everything, go into 'Quick Edit' mode an put the metadata into the columns from there. After a couple of minutes the folder can even be found using the document library searchbox and the metadata term.

Is this intended behaviour?
