Managed Metadata

HI. I created a Team Site in SharePoint Online. I wanted use a managed metadata to tag some sites i create in this site collection. Once i created a column "Managed metadata" i called it "MetaData". I chose a default term set as property of it. When i created a test site i noticed that i can't tag by these values from this column.

When i go to properties of site there is "No properties"

Situation looks different when i chose page to old wiki page. If i choose that i can choose one of these properties from Managed metadata column.

Do you know why it's not possible or how to swtich it on for normal sites ?
