List not working! When adding item it saves then creates multiple duplicates of same item.
Hi Everyone!
We have an issue with a List. Not sure if anyone one else is having this issue as well? Any help/ suggestions are appreciated! :)
Originally it was created by an employee in Classic and when the list surpassed the 5,000 item mark it could only be accessed using Modern. Modern has been working fine until 2 days ago when it starting saving multiple of the same item, meaning when a user goes to add a List Item it automatically saves the item multiple times. So the user then has to deleted 4-7 items so that only 1 version of the item is on the List. Yesterday I noticed that the save button is missing on the List form. Anyone have any idea why this is happening?

- DeletedAs a side note, if you don't have any workflows and this is bugged to that extent where it's saving a new item for each field modified automatically, the work around would be to edit the default form using powerapps. You can just click powerapps > customize forms and then just do file > Save > Publish with the defaults and you should get something similar to the previous experience for now and I would call Microsoft and report this as it seems like a pretty nasty bug if it is indeed doing this with no workflows involved.

I am able to reproduce this as well, this isn't good for lists :P. PowerApps work around does work for now, but if you have a lot of lists this could be a nightmare.
Tagging in Mark-Kashman and wbaer and few MVP's to see if they can maybe get an inside track on this since this is a very major bug IMO. If i get some time I'll try to submit a ticket but my slate is full today.
But Chiara Gomez I would highly recommend getting a support ticket in ASAP and post it up here once you here back, thanks!

Chiara Gomez here is step by step for powerapps, not pretty but if you have high traffic lists could be work around for now if Classic mode isn't an option.
Here is what happens with the bug.
Now to use PowerApps Custom forms click on Powerapps then customize this form
Now, click File, then Save
Now publish the form.
Once published it won't be pretty (You can customize out some fields if you wanted, but it will give you a basic functionality where a new item and edit etc. will only edit when you click the save button as shown.
- DeletedThey have recently changed it so that every time you update a list field it sends an update to update the item. If you have any sort of workflow such as possibly a workflow / flow that takes a file and renames it etc. You're probably getting a side affect of this change where each time a field is modified when creating a new one it's basically triggering new item creates or edits each time.
I would start there, but it's definatley not been a good change to drop on lists like that, should be an option configurable in the list settings for something as drastic as this!
