List displaying filter and hash

Hi,

I have a SharePoint site which uses views of a list to display items filtered on two columns - "Resource" and "Level". After adding an item categorised under several Levels, the view is displaying its filter and hash symbols. I've tried deleting the item and re-adding it as separate entities (one for each level), but it is still displaying in this unattractive way! 

Previously, it just displayed the headers and then the item itself without the drop-down with the filter description like this: 

Any help on getting the list to display without the filter markup would be much appreciated!
