An issue was occurring within the "set expiration date" feature, which necessitated its reversion to further optimize its efficacy.

We’re deploying the change necessary to reenable the “Set expiration" feature, and we tentatively anticipate that it'll take around four weeks to reach all environments. We'll provide a more precise estimated time to resolution in the next communications update.

We recently identified and investigated an issue with the "set expiration date" feature and disabled it temporarily while we work to optimize its functionality. We're deploying a change which will collaboratively work with this feature to enhance its efficacy. After this, we'll reenable the feature and restore users' ability to set expiration dates when file sharing in Microsoft 365 apps. We'll aim to provide an estimated time to resolution in our next scheduled update.

For some reason I can't see this within my demo tenant and I've got customers asking for this feature. Where did it go? MC799277 isn't available on the roadmap any longer...
