Left Side Nav dissapears from root hub site
Root sites where left navigation and "hub site settings" menu option disappear when coming from a communications site into the hub using the global navigation.
You’ll need to report this to Microsoft. I want to say someone else had this problem not long ago so it may be reported but I would anyway.
As a work around use a URL shortener and use those links for your global nav URL and it’ll work properly.

Do you know how to change the hub name URL link - that point back to main site collection (tenant.sharepoint.com)?
- Yeah, unfortunately I think your stuck with the bug in that case. I'd file a support ticket for this if you can easily reproduce it.
