Infopath displayed as XML

Hi All,

 

We are migrating infopath using content matrix from SharePoint 2007 to SharePoint 2013 on premises. However, 

 

1. The fields don't get promoted

2. The infopath icon is not showing but shown as XML and also when clicked opens up a xml document

 

Tried the following approach

 

1. Deleted the library and created again but no luck

2. Deleted the content type and created again but no luck

 

Only thing that works is if we migrate the entire subsite from scratch. It would be really helpful if someone can throw some light on this issue?
