Inactive Tab Redirects to SharePoint Home
Thanks michalkornet, but I don't believe that is the case. It happened to several files, at least a couple of which would not have been opened in preview mode. It took a long time for the issue to happen. The documents were sleeping tabs for a couple of weeks before suddenly all redirecting to the home page.
Hi DavidMichaelangelo, another idea came to my mind: maybe it is related to the expiration date of the link?
Unlikely. This was across several documents from several people, and our org does not have a default expiration date. My theory is it's just a bug when the tab is reloaded -- either due to a browser update, or system reboot. Hopefully something that happens very rarely . . .
It's a good thought, but it happened to all of the links at the same time. My current theory is there was a bad handling of the reload of the URLs for whatever reason, and the behaviour is to redirect back to the homepage (kinda like a 404 page). It might have been after a browser update, but it was definitely after all of my tabs were reloaded when restoring a session (restarted computer, browser update, I can't remember exactly).
