if we upload large documents, can we be in a situation where only part of the document is indexed
John...Once a document is uploaded the indexing of the document will begin within 15 minutes, depending on when the last time the indexer ran. You don't have control over this. The best option if you want to have a document show sooner would be to go into Advanced Settings of the library and click "re-index document library".

thanks for the reply. i know that in sharepoint online we do not have control over the search index schedule, and that the document will be indexed on the next crawl run.
but my question is how sharepoint search will show the results while the document is being indexed ? for example let say the document contain 2,000 pages, and the crawl start indexing the documents (let say it indexed 300++ pages out of 2,000 pages).... and meanwhile i do a search and the search criteria already found inside the 300 pages,, will i get search results? or sharepoint will start showing the search results for the document once the whole document is indexed? i hope this explained my question better.
