How to Redirect on Site Page to another Site Page within the same site

I have been researching how to create a redirect 404 page on a SharePoint site.  What I am looking to accomplish is to redirect a page that is no longer on the site to another page on the same site. I found an article but it doesn't meet what I expected it. If you can assist me or if this is something to be done on a technical end please let me know.
