How to monitor SharePoint online workflow?
Are you using MS Flow? if so, you can use something like this https://docs.microsoft.com/en-us/flow/mobile-monitor-activity
I mean SharePoint workflow which created by SharePoint designer. We also using MS Flow to create business workflow too. We also want to know how to monitor both of them no matter created by SharePoint designer or MS Flow.
- Well, then you need to build your custom stuff using Client Object Model for SP 2013 Workflows...bear in mind that this option is not available for SP 2010 style workflows
We build the workflow in SharePoint online. Also the same? Can you share more details on Client Object Model?
Your best long term solution will be to migrate your SP 2010 style workflows to MS Flow, this will allow you to use all of the new monitoring tools and you won't have to spend a lot of effort creating a custom tool that will become obsolete.
If monitoring WF performance is important to you, then you should take a look at Nintex Hawkeye, this is a very good tool that uses Beacons to easily record duration of WF steps and provides numerous types of metrics that can be displayed in executive level dashboards.
