Highlighted Content won't let me select my site

Hi,

My head's about to explode with this issue I'm having with the setup of my 3rd highlighted content webpart on my site.

Basically, I want to use the "Select Site" option to direct the web part to a specific document library to display.  I can search and see other sites except for the one I want.  It is a Team with a General and Confidential channe that was created years ago.  The Confidential channel displays but not the General.  I can go to the document library in the General site via Sharepoint in my browser - no problems whatsoever.  When I paste that link as a URL into the site search box it still doesn't recognize it.

Any ideas?

Thanks in advance

      Hi Valentin,
Thanks for the response, I did use KQL query (Same format as used with other HCWP sections) but no success FOR THE GENERAL SITE CHANNEL. To test, I specified the CONFIDENTIAL CHANNEL in the KQL query and that works fine. For some reason only the GENERAL channel cannot be identified by the web part Site Select. The add it in my Frequent Sites list I've been going to the site in SharePoint and refreshing/navigating around it in the hope it will appear in this list, but that's not happening either.
      Extremely frustrating!

        Hi,

Let me check in my side, i come back to you quickly
        Rgds,
        Valentin
  • blahb1345 The General channel is just a folder in the main Documents library in the SharePoint site associated with your Microsoft Team. In the HCWP you would only see the Documents library (not General as this is just a folder within that library).

To target just the General folder within the Documents library you can either use KQL or a filter on a managed property such as Path and add a contains with the name of the folder /General/ for instance.

I'm not sure about your Confidential channel showing up. If that's a private channel or shared channel, then it would be an entirely separate SharePoint site.

      Thanks Grant,
I've compared and contrasted against two other (working) HCWPs on the same site, with this the only one going to a Teams General channel. One points to another Confidential channel in a different Team, while the other points to a Sharepoint File Library (not in Teams). Have used KQL for all three with no difference in the parameters, but for whatever reason won't look at the General channel in this one Team...

        Hi @blahd1345

Working on my side. I just open General chan in sharepoint. Took the uri of the site and construct a KQL query to display whatever you want (ex: site:https://mysharepoint/sites/myteam...)
Then all stuff be displayed and can filter with additionnal properties.
Can you send us your KQL query, maybe the issue is on the query?
