Highlighted Content Webpart not returning all Managed Properties or filtering Managed properties

Hi there.

I am fairly new to the Managed Properties world but I thought I was doing this right.

I want to have a Highlighted Content webpart filter on two different Managed Properties.  One is a refinablestring that I set up to match a column called Program.  The other is a refinableyesno that is set up to designate a page in a category called KnowledgeCatalog.

When I choose Managed Property in the webpart, I only get a list of two managed properties instead of the 13 or so that I have set up.  (see pic attached.)

Also, when I do choose the refinableyesno property and try to do Property equals Yes, it returns no results even though I have many pages marked yes.

I am not familiar enough with query languages to write my own query, so is there any way to do this with the managed properties or am I out of luck.

However, you can manually request crawling and full reindexing of a site, a document library, or a list after a schema/content change has occurred.

Check this documentation: Manually request crawling and reindexing of a site, a library or a list

Well, it seems like some patience answered my own question.

Two things seem to be happening here:
    1. Apparently, only managed properties that contain data on that site will show up in the dropdown. So, once I added in something to the column, it showed up.
    2. There is definitely a delay from when I added the data to when the property will show up and work in the Highlighted content webpart. So, as long as I account for the delay (which seems to be variable but I know I am good if I wait overnight), everything seems to be working.

I do think that this delay is a challenge that I wish Microsoft would solve but if I have to wait for the crawl, then I will wait.
