'Highlighted Content' Web part bug? Stops displaying results when a SORT is applied

Interesting. I cannot replicate the behavior in my test tenant either.
If you search for something, does the results show up normally in the site?
Here is something to try - set the sort parameter, save, publish and waited for couple of minutes to see if results pop up.

We're trying this now, but I believe they had already let the web part sit for days with no success. Either way, no harm in trying again.
