Hide the Left Navigation from Modern List

Chris McNulty Is there a way to hide the left navigation and reposition the 'search box' in the modern list?

I have a big list with over 80 columns.  The left navigation takes up much needed screen real-estate.

I am stuck with the modern experience because the classic experience doesn't have the newly introduced 'predictive indexing'.

    I sometimes wish I could change the template from Teams to Communication Site within an Office 365 Group for better Navigation and more real estate as well.

    AFAIK, currently there is not a way to hide left navigation and re-position search box in a modern list. I can imagine this could be done in the future with SPFx Extensions
