Hero Web Part Dimensions

I am trying to change the image in a Hero Web Part on a Sharepoint Communications site. No matter what size image I upload, the display is significantly bigger than the web part and therefore unusable. Is there any way to resize the image after it's inserted? The sample image is as big as the frame, but anything else is 8-10 times bigger.
