Did you find any other information on this? I noticed the same thing on our tenant just today. Previously updated images are fine, but the last three added have that same prefix added.

Hello we have the same problem, I can’t see any logic in the error. I have now opened a support case on Microsoft. Do you have any solutions? Thanks
- vladschiop1890Dec 18, 2023Copper ContributorHello,
Could you point us to the Microsoft support link?
Did you get any response from them? - HOSolveDec 11, 2023Copper ContributorAny updates or feedback?
- jbeyazyurekMar 18, 2024Copper ContributorI just got off a call with a Microsoft support Rep regarding this issue. They did confirm it is a bug. Unfortunately, they did not have an ETA yet for resolving it.
They did however, provide a workaround, pending that you DO NOT need to use list item attachments.
Go to list settings, then to advanced settings and set list item attachments to Disabled. The images will once again save to Site Assets once again, and not as an attachment.
Hopefully they will get a true fix in place, as this is not a solution for me since I also have list item attachments, as well as an image column. But hopefully it can help others here with the same issue.- rhinestonelifeJul 23, 2024Copper Contributor
Thank you jbeyazyurek this helped me. I had an existing list with thumbnails and I wanted to add one item and was getting the blank rectangle with "Reserved Image....etc my filename etc.jpg". I tried a bunch of things I saw on the internet. But changing the attachments settings worked. I also don't have any attachments in my list, so the warning "this will remove all your attachments" was not a big deal.
