Has Where can i create Communication sites changed ?

Hi,

 

I am seeing that Communication sites can now only be created from the SharePoint Home page, previously Communication sites could be created from the oneDrive UI, this now only prompts you to create a group/Teamsite.

 

Is this expected ? is anyone else seeing this ?

    To me it's totally expected...communication sites should only be created from the SPO landing page and also for the new SPO Admin Center to come

      Completely agree, I wanted to make sure this is by design and not a bug.
