Grant permission to a Shared Mailbox which contain mail-enabled security group

We have the following case inside our Office 365 tenant:-

1. Shared mailbox

2. Inside the Shared mailbox >> we define a mail-enabled security group as a Member of the Shared mailbox.

3. the mail-enabled security group contains 8 users

Now inside a SharePoint group >> we grant the Shared mailbox Read access to the SharePoint site>> but the 8 users inside the mail-enabled security group, did not get access to the SharePoint site through the Shared mailbox.. so is our setting supported?
