Global Search regularly stops displaying results at undeterminable times/periods

Hello, 

We know that clearing the cache resolves this issue. But are there known predefined parameters whereby the cookies/ MFA session would expire and therefore require the endusers to refresh their session to reenable search. It appears to ONLY affect Global Search and not any other sites:
