Give site members the ability to add events in Sharepoint

I am creating our organization's intranet through SharePoint. I have a calendar visible on the main page. How do give Site members(View Only Status) the ability to add events (approval process for adding will be added) to the calendar, but making sure that they stay in View Only status. They will only have access to adding events
