Why is it so hard for the SharePoint Product Group to add native PowerShell support for administering SharePoint Online subsites?

This idea has been posted around on multiple forums and the MSFT SharePoint team still hasn't provided a satisfactory answer. As a SharePoint Admin, we can manage SPO site collections with *-SPOSite cmdlets, but there is no equivalent set of cmdlets for managing subsites. The only way to manage subsites on SPO is to use the painful GUI or CSOM, both of which are time-consuming.

I tried to post this idea on SharePoint Uservoice last night, but it doesn't even show my idea at all. I won't be surprised if the Uservoice is broken as well.
