Well it is still 8 years ahead and as it was already in 2014 that there were rumours of removing Infopath. I think after these 8 years you will not be able to use infopath anymore. If you ask me today i would not even start with Infopath or SharePoint Designer. And go for Powerapps and flows. If you already have it in your system. I think in the 8 years to come some things may change so that is a good time to move away from Infopath and SharePoint Designer.
