Form ID for SharePoint Front End Forms
I'm using the new Front End Forms feature to capture data into my SharePoint List and need to trigger a Power Automate Flow on form submission.
How can I find the Form ID? The URL only contains CID, not FormID, and the form is also not visible under My Forms on https://forms.microsoft.com.
babuvt A few suggestions - might not be what you are looking for but here they are.
- Allow the item to be created in the list, then perform the validation using a flow as per the response from michalkornet, and if it doesn't pass the validation, then the flow can delete the item and email the user.
- Use a Microsoft Form instead so you can run the flow on the Form data, perform the validation, and only save it to your list if it's valid.
- Add some validation on the fields directly in the list. This of course depends on what you are trying to validate. You can add validate to ensure a number is greater than a certain amount, the value is unique in the list, mandatory, etc.
- Add some conditions for your fields in the Form so they only show if certain criteria are met.
Again, not sure if this will solve your specific issue.

I wanted to do some Validations before Record is inserted into the sharepoint list.

Hi babuvt , I'm wondering if it's possible to use the simple 'When an item is created' trigger to detect when a new item has been created via Microsoft Forms? Would it be enough in your case?

Yes, that’s an option, but I’d like to perform some validation during form submission before inserting any records. If certain validations fail, I want to send an email to the submitter and avoid creating a record in the SharePoint list.
