Follow prompt
Hi,
We have an issue with a few users who visit a SharePoint team site and get the message to follow the site. They click on follow and the system responds that "they are already following this site" but the prompt keeps coming every single time.
It is only for some users. As we dont use the Newsfeed, how do we disable the prompt?

I also had this problem with one user. She had bookmarked the site, and the url in her bookmark included parameters to initiate the follow prompt. We edited her bookmark URL to just be the base site address with no additional parameters and it resolved the issue.
- Asish PadhyBrass ContributorHi Dhiran, The quickest way, if you are ok to disable/hide for all Site users then you can disable the "Following content" feature from Site features. You might have to do it for all Sites. Thanks, Asish

Thanks Asish but that disables the follow option for all users. What I need to find out is why 1 or 2 people get this prompt on the site and its not there for the rest of the users.

Hi Dhiran,
Sorry I thought you wanted to disable the "Following" link. Regarding the prompt, I have never this prompt. Since you are not using Newsfeed, are you using Yammer for feeds?
