Filter pane missing content from managed metadata column

I have a managed metadata column, it has just over 400 terms. When looking in the Filters pane only around 140 values are shown, there is no way to show the rest and no way to search for an item. I'd expect the functionality to be similar to a Choice column where it does show all of the items and I can also limit the items shown by inputting into a Search box.

 

Is this a bug in the Filters pane for managed metadata columns?
