File versions history - restore permissions
Hello, is there a way in latest Sharepoint to restrict restoring capabilities of a file's previous version to site owners only? If so how to do it?
- If others do not need to edit the files, set the doc library's permissions to Read for all but Site Owners. If they do need to edit documents, you can create a custom permission level on your site where you allow editing, but remove the right to view versions. SharePoint Maven has a great article on that here https://sharepointmaven.com/how-to-create-a-custom-permission-level-in-sharepoint/ Hope that helps!

Thank youKelly_Edinger , there is only one thing - I want users to be able to view previous versions, just want to stop them from restoring those. My fear is that people will restore older versions accidentally and will remove most up to date version because of it. Unless there is another workaround I should know about that could help and would be easier to do?
EDIT. Apologies just realized that I can tick off delete previous versions only and keep view as active, thank you!
