File share to SharePoint Online migration
Hi Folks,
We are planning a migration from our on-premise file shares to SharePoint online, as a part of which we are using the SharePoint Migration tool.
We have planned to perform a scan on all folders for any inconsistency in file name conventions, or file path length.
As we start off with the scanning, there's some cache created on the Local C drive, so any calculation using which I can estimate the space requirements for the pre-migration stage.
Besides this, is there any other way to perform the migration without consuming space on the Local C drive.
Thanks,
Karan.

karan2045 SPMT requires a temporary workspace, which is on C: drive by default. You can change the path using Register-SPMTmigration -WorkingFolder [path]

I've used an external USB HDD for temporary storage. It didn't impact performance.
I hope that helps
Cheers
