File icon interrupt the tile view
I don't think so. I will suggest you to raise a support ticket with Microsoft directly and report this behavior. Follow: Get M365 Support - Online Support

I just tried it on our SharePoint site (with targeted release) and it shows the URL file type correctly in the tile view:
Is this issue for only one user or multiple users? If only one, try clearing browser cache & cookies (for all time) and re-login to SharePoint site and see if it loads correctly.

Might not have been clear in my description. I get the exact same as you, however if I then start to change the way I want information displayed the new "feature" for links interferes with the settings as it somehow is coded to show the file type despite what my code is telling it.
And that is not a personal issue... it is an issue for all users utilizing the view.
